Oddball returns and raises £68,000
Sporting an array of outfits – including top hats, aviator goggles, odd socks and even ‘oddly’ coloured eyes – guests of The Odd Ball 2016 fully embraced the Steampunk to Black Tie ‘anything goes’ dress code, and arrived to meet their hosts Sarah Parish and James Murray at The Hilton at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton, on November 19 2016.
Whisked into the reception area by butlers on stilts and looked on by bronzed living statues, the 300 guests enjoyed a glass of Champagne, before the doors flung open to the glittered and littered ballroom, as junk percussionists Clatteratti opened the show with a crash, bang and whistle.
Sarah Parish and Stephen Tompkinson hosted the evening’s entertainment, while guests enjoyed a three-course banquet, live auction, and had the opportunity to buy tickets for a glitzy ‘Diamond Raffle’. A spectacular show ensued, with hula-hooping extravaganza Lisa Sampson and a raucous set from the superb Stavros Flatley. The party continued long into the night to the sound of Urban Groove live DJ set.
An enormous £68,000 was raised for The Murray Parish Trust’s ongoing #2MillionSteps
life-saving appeal, which aims to provide the funds needed to build a vital children’s trauma department at Southampton University Hospital, servicing nine counties across the South
